Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and Poolr — a platform that only matches private drivers and passengers sharing a trip. Poolr is not a transport provider.
1What Poolr is
Poolr is a technology platform that only matches private drivers and passengers who are travelling the same way so they can share a ride and split its running cost. Poolr is not a transport provider, carrier, taxi service, travel agent, or a party to any ride or arrangement between users.
Poolr does not employ drivers, does not own or operate any vehicle, does not set routes or timings, and exercises no control over any ride. A ride is arranged entirely between the users involved; Poolr's role is limited to introducing them and providing the app.
2Who can use Poolr
You must be 18 years or older and legally able to enter a contract. You agree to give true, current information and to keep it accurate.
If you offer to drive, you must use a private, non-transport (white number-plate) vehicle that is validly registered and insured, and you must hold a valid driving licence for that class of vehicle. Poolr is for genuine commuters sharing an existing trip — not for commercial or for-hire transport of any kind.
3Poolr does not verify or guarantee users
Poolr does not verify or guarantee the identity, driving licence, vehicle, registration, insurance, roadworthiness, or conduct of any user, and cannot confirm that any user is who they claim to be. Any verification features Poolr offers are aids, not guarantees.
You are responsible for satisfying yourself about anyone you ride or drive with — including checking that the person and vehicle match before you travel.
4You travel at your own risk
You choose your own co-rider or driver, and you travel entirely at your own risk. Your interactions, arrangements and journeys with other users are your own responsibility. Poolr strongly recommends you use the in-app safety tools (share your live trip, verify the vehicle, rate and report), but these are tools you operate — they are not a promise of safety.
5Cost-sharing, not a fare
Any money exchanged for a ride is a shared contribution to the actual cost of travel (fuel and tolls) and must not exceed the driver's real cost for that trip. A driver must not make a profit. Sharing genuine cost is lawful cost-sharing under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988; charging a profit turns it into an unlicensed commercial service, which is prohibited on Poolr.
Poolr does not collect, hold, process or handle any ride money. Users settle cost-sharing directly between themselves (for example, by UPI). See our Cost-Sharing & Payments policy.
6Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Poolr is not liable for any injury, death, loss, theft, damage, delay, dispute or misconduct arising out of any ride, any interaction between users, or your use of the platform, and Poolr excludes liability for indirect, incidental or consequential loss (such as lost income or opportunity) — except to the extent caused by Poolr's own fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have that cannot be waived under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any other applicable law. Where any part of this clause is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
7Your responsibilities and indemnity
You agree to comply with all applicable laws (including the Motor Vehicles Act and your own vehicle, licence and insurance obligations), to behave respectfully and safely, and to follow our Community & Safety Guidelines.
You agree to indemnify Poolr against claims, losses and costs arising from your own conduct, breach of these Terms, or misrepresentation.
8Prohibited use
- No commercial, for-hire or profit-making transport.
- No use of a commercial/transport (yellow-plate) vehicle to offer rides.
- No harassment, threats, discrimination or unlawful conduct.
- No false information, impersonation, or misuse of another user's data.
9Suspension and removal
Poolr may suspend or remove any user who breaches these Terms or the Community & Safety Guidelines, or where necessary for the safety of others.
10Grievances, governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a complaint, please raise it first through our Grievance Redressal channel. Poolr operates as an intermediary and follows the due-diligence obligations applicable to intermediaries under Indian law.
